Hi,
I’ve been searching high and low on the internet for a 1981 Datsun Bluebird GX wagon.I’m not in it to transform it into a “hoon” machine.I’m after one to restore. My mum owned one from 1983-2007.When my old man decided it had to go to the wreckers to be crushed or for parts all for a lousy $100.
To my mum and her extended family,it wasn’t just a ‘Bluebird’..It was a family member. And I want to bring that family member back to the family for my mum’s up coming 60th birthday. If anyone could please help me out.I’ve been searching for 2 years now,and no luck at all, only Bluebirds that have come close were sedans, not wagons. Please, even if you own a Bluebird with the description I’m after, how much will it take for you to part with your Bluebird?
If you have any info or could help me out, please let me know!
Kind regards : )

Andy: sounds like you had an australian built 1. Japanese 1s are far superior.

these cars are becoming more and more rare. wreckers aren’t keeping them any more and parts are becoming scarce. There are a lot of enthusiasts who love these cars now, for being rear wheel drive and easy conversions with 200sx engines. check out more at w w w . aussiebluebirds . c o m

I purchased a brand new TRX series 2, only upon handover from the dealer, immediatley had it returned for bubbled paintwork on the bonnett. The rear tail lights filled with water and the you could almost see daylight and certainly hear the wind through the A pillars and the front doors travelling at 100kms. Poorly put together but it was reliable.
OH, and what auto electrican could forget the pretty and shiny but totally unreliable LED instruments on the TRX.

I had a series 1 for about 12 years, only just sold it, I bought it 2nd hand - was a bit unsure at first . But It never went wrong. Seats are comfortable and durable. Nothing special about its performance. But could tow our pop top caravan at highway speeds. Seemed to handle pretty well. Its no sports car but was very reliable & cheap to run.
